Operations Manager

Leading child transport business requires an Operations Manager. This is a highly responsible role requiring applicants of the highest character.

Hours of work: Full Time

Place of work: Johannesburg Northern Suburbs

Responsibilites include:

The Operations manager is required to manage both the relationship between the company and clients, as well as oversee the daily well-being of and professional service to all unaccompanied minors in our car.  This position also requires oversight of all cross-functional internal operations related to daily operations on all levels.

 

  • Manage all day to day operational activities
  • Oversee all high-level HR duties
  • Analyse and improve organisational processes
  • Improve quality, productivity and efficiency
  • Manage all heads of department
  • Work closely with the CEO to ensure proper roll out of processes
  • Ongoing development of new, specific training for staff
  • Policy development and implementation
  • Incident reports
  • General management tasks
  • Ensure an accurate, expedient and efficient delivery of service to all staff
  • Manage, develop and supervise direct report staff
  • Oversee the development of operational strategy
  • Establish and maintain appropriate systems to monitor, evaluate and report on all operational departments

Qualifications and experience needed:

  • At least 5 years’ experience relevant to the position (preferably in a school environment)
  • An understanding of the school/transport sectors would be a plus
  • Above average overall computer capabilities
  • MS Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Sage / Pastel / Xero would be advantageous
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to forge solid relationships.
  • Positive, ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Problem solver
  • Ability to collate and present data in a succinct and well-written manner
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field
  • Proven management experience, preferentially in a school or transportation business, managing complex operations with multiple stakeholders
  • Must be able to self-manage and self direct
  • Professionally discrete as demanded of a position with access to personal information
  • Pedantic attention to detail
  • Excellent record keeping
  • Exceptional writing, editing, grammatical, organizational, and research skills
  • Second African language hugely advantageous
  • Excellent management, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
